About Dendrobium secundum (Blume) Lindl. ex Wall.
Dendrobium secundum (Blume) Lindl. ex Wall., commonly called the toothbrush orchid, is a flowering plant species from the Dendrobium genus in the Orchidaceae family. Its common name comes from the arrangement of all its flowers growing on the same side of the stem, which resembles the bristles located all on one side of a toothbrush. This species is a pseudobulb epiphyte. It grows wild in a range of diverse habitats across Southeast Asia, including the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Thailand, the Philippines, Peninsular Malaysia, Java, Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Indo-China and the Lesser Sunda Islands. It grows wild in the tropical regions listed above, and its flowering time varies based on temperature, water, sunlight, shade and overall climate. When well cared for, it will go through one growing season, after which it produces its flowers.
