Dendostrea frons, commonly known as the frond oyster, is a species of bivalve mollusc that belongs to the family Ostreidae. This oyster’s native distribution extends along the Atlantic Coast of North America, ranging from North Carolina to the West Indies. A 2013 discovery recorded Dendostrea frons in County Kerry, Ireland. Before this 2013 finding, there was only one previous recorded observation of this species in Ireland, from County Mayo.
