About Demansia papuensis (Macleay, 1877)
Demansia papuensis, first described by Macleay in 1877, has consistent body coloration ranging from light to dark brown or black. Its head is tan with small dark spots. This species can grow to a maximum length of 1.5 meters (4.9 feet). It occurs mainly across northern Australia, specifically in far northeastern Western Australia, northern Northern Territory, and northern Queensland. It inhabits open forests and woodlands.
