About Debregeasia longifolia (Burm.fil.) Wedd.

Debregeasia longifolia (Burm.fil.) Wedd. is commonly called Orange Wild Rhea. It is a large shrub that can grow up to 5 meters tall. This species grows in wet areas, ranging from plains up to an elevation of 1500 meters. It is commonly found across India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indo-China, west China, and Malesia. In Matupi Township, Chin, it is also known by the local name Haikaeng Thing. Its wood is used to make charcoal, its fiber is used for making fishing lines, and the fiber extracted from its bark is used for house construction.
