Datana ministra, commonly known as the yellownecked caterpillar, is a moth species belonging to the family Notodontidae. Its scientific name is Datana ministra Drury, 1773. This moth occurs in southern Canada and the United States east of the Rocky Mountains; in the southwestern part of its range, it extends as far as California. The wingspan of this species is approximately 42 millimeters. It produces one new generation each year. The larval form feeds on plant species from the genera Malus, Quercus, Betula, and Salix.
