Dasymutilla satanas, commonly called Satan's velvet ant, is a species of velvet ant. It is found in the deserts of the Great Basin region of North America. Its scientific name is most likely a reference to the "hellish" deserts that this species inhabits. Females of this species are relatively large for the Dasymutilla genus. Their size is comparable to that of female Dasymutilla magna or female Dasymutilla sackenii.
