About Danthonia unispicata (Thurb.) Munro ex Macoun
Danthonia unispicata is a grass species commonly called onespike oatgrass or onespike danthonia. It is similar to Danthonia californica, and is sometimes classified as a variety of that species. It is native to western North America, where it grows in multiple habitat types including grassland and open areas in mountain forests. This is a perennial bunchgrass that grows in clumps between 10 and 30 centimeters tall, and produces very hairy rolled leaves. Its inflorescence holds a single spikelet, though it may occasionally produce up to four spikelets.
