About Dalcerina tijucana (Schaus, 1892)

Dalcerina tijucana is a moth species belonging to the family Dalceridae. It is the only species in the monotypic genus Dalcerina. The species was first described by William Schaus in 1892. Its known distribution covers Panama, eastern Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, and northern Argentina. Forewing length measures 14 to 20 millimeters for male individuals and 20 to 24 millimeters for female individuals. The larvae of Dalcerina tijucana feed on Citrus sinensis, Eucalyptus saligna, and plants from the genus Ouratea.
