About Cystosoma schmeltzi Distant, 1882

Cystosoma schmeltzi, first described by Distant in 1882, has a forewing length ranging from 26 to 36 mm. This species complex is distributed along the Queensland coast, ranging south from areas near Palmerville, Mossman, Mount Garnet and Townsville to Rockhampton, and extending west to Blackall and Stanthorpe in Queensland. It also reaches as far as Gunnedah in New South Wales. Its associated habitats include dry sclerophyll forest, woodland, and small trees and shrubs growing around rural towns.
