About Cyriocosmus leetzi Vol, 1999

Females of Cyriocosmus leetzi have a lifespan of 5 to 7 years, while males live 2 to 3 years. This species has a reddish brown carapace, and a reddish orange opisthosoma marked with 8 black lines that radiate from the center of the opisthosoma. Its legs are black or grayish, covered in light grey hairs; light grey hairs also cover the opisthosoma. Overall, this species looks quite similar to Cyriocosmus nicholausgordoni. This species has been found in Aguazul, Colombia, where it occurs in very humid tropical rainforest. The average temperature in this region is 25°C, and average yearly rainfall ranges from 1000mm to 3200mm depending on the specific location.
