Cypho purpurascens (De Vis, 1884), commonly called the oblique-lined dottyback or the lavender dottyback, is a species of ray-finned fish belonging to the family Pseudochromidae. This species is found in the western Pacific Ocean. It reaches a maximum length of 7.5 centimetres (3.0 inches). It sometimes enters the aquarium trade. Individuals of this species may be solitary or live in pairs, and they inhabit or live near crevices in reefs, as well as holes in tidal pools, lagoons, and reef slopes.
