About Cyllecoris histrionius (Linnaeus, 1767)

Cyllecoris histrionius is a species of bug belonging to the Miridae family. It can be found in the British Isles, Iceland, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Central Europe. It is also present in North Africa, and ranges east across Asia Minor to the Caucasus. This species has an elongated body with striking markings, and a large, black-and-yellowish-white pronotum that is narrowed at the front. Eggs overwinter and hatch in spring. The species emerges as bluish-green larvae. Adult Cyllecoris histrionius are active fliers from May to July, and can be found on oak trees, where they feed on small insects such as aphids and bark flies.
