Four subspecies of Cylindera germanica are currently recognized: Cylindera germanica germanica, Cylindera germanica michaelensis, Cylindera germanica muelleri, and Cylindera germanica sobrina. Cylindera germanica has one accepted synonym: Cicindela germanica Linnaeus, 1758. The nominate subspecies, C. g. germanica, occupies a broad range across most of Europe and eastern Russia.
