About Cyclosia panthona (Stoll, 1781)

Cyclosia panthona (Stoll, 1780) shows a semi-diurnal habit and has a rather elongated, narrow body. Its abdomen is entirely blue green. The head, thorax, and abdomen have no white markings. The forewing is dull brown with a greenish tinge, and the hindwing is purplish brown. Both wings bear a submarginal series of large white spots in the interspaces; these spots lie furthest from the margin at the apex of the forewing. The larva is pale greenish yellow. The first two and last two body somites are reddish. The larva has three lateral and three dorsal series of warts, which are black-centered with white color. The pupa develops inside a pale reddish cocoon.
