About Cyclidia orciferaria Walker, 1860
Cyclidia orciferaria is a moth species that belongs to the Drepanidae family. It was first described by Francis Walker in 1860. It can be found in China (specifically in the regions of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan), Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Myanmar. This species can be distinguished from other species in its genus by a set of distinct external traits. The apex of its forewing is falcate, meaning it is shaped like a sickle. Its overall wing color is blackish brown. The forewing holds two bands that are covered in greyish-blue scales; the inner of these two bands is both narrower and less distinct than the outer band. The forewing’s discal spot is yellowish brown and oblong, with a narrow blackish brown line running through its center. The submarginal lines of both the forewings and hindwings are covered in greyish-blue scales, and this scaling is often missing from the middle portion of the hindwing.
