About Cyclemys oldhami Gray, 1863
Oldham's leaf turtle, with the scientific name Cyclemys oldhami Gray, 1863 (sometimes also written as Cyclemys oldhamii), is a turtle species that belongs to the family Geoemydidae. This species is distributed across Bangladesh, the terai region of Mizoram, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, West Borneo, Sumatra, and Java. A subspecific taxon, Cyclemys oldhami shanensis, is sometimes treated as a separate species because of its distinctive shell pattern, which is often described as looking similar to aged meat. This taxon ranges from central Myanmar to Thailand and Cambodia. The species' original type locality was given as "Mergui and Siam", and was later restricted to Mergui by Smith in 1931.
