About Ctenanthe burle-marxii H.Kenn.
Ctenanthe burle-marxii, commonly called the fishbone prayer plant, is a species in the genus Ctenanthe that is native to Brazil. Its common name comes from the alternating stripe pattern on its oval, pale green leaves, and its scientific name is named in honor of landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. Like other plants in the family Marantaceae, this species tends to close its leaves during the night. This leaf-closing trait is why it is referred to as a "prayer plant", sharing that common name with Maranta leuconeura. It grows well as tropical ground cover, and is often found growing in shaded areas.
