About Crypturellus parvirostris (Wagler, 1827)

The small-billed tinamou (scientific name Crypturellus parvirostris (Wagler, 1827)) is approximately 22 cm (8.7 in) long. It has dark brown upperparts, grey to brownish underparts and head, and red bill and legs. This species prefers dry savanna as its habitat, and it also lives in lowland shrubland. Its range covers Amazonian South America, including most of Brazil (excluding the southeastern part of the country), northeastern Peru, eastern Bolivia, Paraguay, and northeastern Argentina.
