Cryptoptila australana (Lewin, 1805), commonly called the elderberry leaf roller, is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This species is native to Australia, with confirmed recorded populations across Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, and South Australia. The wingspan of adult Cryptoptila australana measures approximately 30 millimeters. The larvae of this moth feed on two plant species: Polyscias sambucifolia, also known as elderberry panax, and Telopea speciosissima, commonly called waratah.
