About Cryptoplax striata (Lamarck, 1819)
Cryptoplax striata, common name the striate leathery chiton, is a species of chiton belonging to the genus Cryptoplax. This species inhabits spaces under rocks and within crevices in the intertidal and subtidal waters of southern Australia. It reaches a maximum length of 120 mm, and has a brown, leathery texture with small, non-articulated shell valves.
