About Cryptophasa pultenae Lewin, 1805
Cryptophasa pultenae, first described by Lewin in 1805, has distinct size differences between males and females. Males have a wingspan of approximately 25 mm, while females have a wingspan of around 40 mm. All individuals have silvery-white wings. The forewings (anterior pair) feature three small black spots in the middle of the wing, plus a row of black spots along the outer marginal edge at the wing tip. Hindwing color differs by sex: male hindwings are black, while female hindwings are white. Both sexes have a series of angular black marks along the hind margin of the hindwings. The abdomen has a bright red square-shaped spot near its base.
