About Cryptolepis oblongifolia (Meisn.) Schltr.

Cryptolepis oblongifolia, commonly known as red-stemmed milk rope, is a multi-stemmed shrub belonging to the family Apocynaceae. It is native to moist and mesic regions of southern Africa, growing between South Africa and Zambia. Its natural habitats include rocky grassland, grassy woodland, and riverine vegetation. This species grows to approximately 1 meter in height, and bears widely spaced opposite leaves along its reddish-brown stems. Its flowers, which range in color from yellow to reddish-yellow, grow in axillary clusters.
