About Cryptocentroides gobioides (Ogilby, 1886)

Cryptocentroides gobioides, commonly known as the crested oystergoby, is a goby species native to eastern Australia. It is most often found in estuaries and brackish waters, in muddy habitats at depths between 1 metre and 10 metres (3.3 to 32.8 ft). This species can reach a maximum total length of 12 centimetres (4.7 in). It is a small dark fish, marked with scattered red and blue bands or spots. It has a clearly visible pronounced dorsal ridge, and its head has a distinctly bulbous shape.
