About Cryptocarya microneura Meisn.

Cryptocarya microneura Meisn. is a tree that typically reaches 15 m (49 ft) in height, sometimes growing as tall as 25 m (82 ft). Its stems do not develop buttresses. The leaves are lance-shaped to elliptic, 62โ€“115 mm (2.4โ€“4.5 in) long and 20โ€“45 mm (0.79โ€“1.77 in) wide, borne on a petiole 5โ€“11 mm (0.20โ€“0.43 in) long. Leaves are green, with their lower surface more or less glaucous. The cream-coloured flowers are arranged in panicles, which may be either longer or shorter than the leaves. The outer tepals are 1.4โ€“1.7 mm (0.055โ€“0.067 in) long, and the inner tepals are 1.5โ€“1.9 mm (0.059โ€“0.075 in) long. Outer anthers are 0.7โ€“0.8 mm (0.028โ€“0.031 in) long and 0.5โ€“0.6 mm (0.020โ€“0.024 in) wide, while inner anthers are 0.6โ€“0.8 mm (0.024โ€“0.031 in) long and 0.3โ€“0.5 mm (0.012โ€“0.020 in) wide. Flowering occurs from September to November, and the fruit is a spherical to elliptic black drupe 12โ€“14 mm (0.47โ€“0.55 in) long and 10โ€“14 mm (0.39โ€“0.55 in) wide. This Cryptocarya species grows in rainforest and wet forest, from sea level to an altitude of 600 m (2,000 ft), ranging from Gympie in Queensland to Tuross Heads in New South Wales.
