Adult Cryptobotys zoilusalis moths are ash gray (cinereous) in color. They have whitish interior and exterior wing lines, which are slightly edged with brownish coloring. The marginal line on the wings is brownish. In Florida, adult moths have been recorded in flight from February to August, and again from November to December. The larvae of this species feed on Xanthium strumarium.
