About Cryptillas victorini (Sundevall, 1860)

Victorin's warbler, also called Victorin's scrub warbler, has the scientific name Cryptillas victorini (Sundevall, 1860). It is a species of African warbler that was formerly classified in the family Sylviidae. It was recently separated from the genus Bradypterus, and is now the only species placed in the monotypic genus Cryptillas. This species is endemic to the fynbos of coastal Afromontane areas in South Africa. Both its common name and scientific name honor Johan Fredrik Victorin (1831–1855), a Swedish traveler who visited South Africa.
