Cryptantha muricata (Hook. & Arn.) A.Nelson & J.F.Macbr. is a species of flowering plant in the borage family, commonly called pointed cryptantha. It is native to California and adjacent areas of Arizona, Baja California, and Nevada, where it grows across many habitat types. This species is an annual herb that grows a branching stem 10 centimeters to 1 meter tall, and the entire stem is densely covered in a mix of rough and soft hairs. Its leaves are linear in shape, reaching a maximum length of 4 centimeters. The leaves are covered in hairs and bristles, some of which have bulbous bases. Its inflorescence consists of a section of very hairy developing fruits, tipped with a cluster of small five-lobed white flowers.
