About Cryptamorpha desjardinsi (Guérin-Méneville, 1844)

Cryptamorpha desjardinsi is a small beetle species first described by Guérin-Méneville in 1844. Individuals measure between 4 and 5mm in body length, and have distinct, regular black markings on their elytra. This species was originally native to tropical Asia, but its current distribution is cosmopolitan across the world. It can now be found across many countries in Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and Oceania. It was introduced to New Zealand through an introduction pathway originating from Australia.
