Criorhina asilica is a species of hoverfly. It can be found across many parts of Britain and Europe. The larvae of this species are associated with rotting deciduous wood found in mature woodlands and fens. Adult Criorhina asilica are mimics of honey bees, and can be found visiting hawthorn flowers during the spring.
