About Crinia parinsignifera Main, 1957
The eastern sign-bearing froglet, scientifically known as Crinia parinsignifera, is a small ground-dwelling frog that is native to eastern Australia. This species inhabits swamps and ponds, and is most often found under debris at the edges of these water bodies. Males produce their call from pond edges; this call is a series of low squelching sounds, repeated every few seconds. Amplexus occurs at the edges of breeding sites, and eggs are laid singly in the shallow water of ponds.
