About Crepis foetida L.

Crepis foetida L. is a European flowering plant species in the Asteraceae family, commonly known as stinking hawksbeard. It is widespread across most of Europe and Siberia, and is also sparingly naturalized in scattered locations in the United States and Australia. This species is an annual, biennial, or perennial herb that grows up to 50 cm (20 inches) tall. A single plant can produce up to 10 flower heads; each head holds 100 or more yellow ray florets and no disc florets. Three subspecies are recognized: Crepis foetida subsp. foetida, Crepis foetida subsp. glandulosa (C.Presl) Arcang., and Crepis foetida subsp. rhoeadifolia (M.Bieb.) Čelak.
