About Crepis bursifolia L.

Crepis bursifolia, commonly called Italian hawksbeard, is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is native to southern Europe, including Spain, France, Italy, Malta, and Greece. It has also become sparingly naturalized in California, where it grows primarily in the hills east of San Francisco Bay; a small number of specimens have also been collected from open areas in the urban parts of Oakland and San Francisco. This species is a perennial herb that grows up to 35 cm (14 inches) tall. A single individual can produce up to 10 flower heads. Each head holds up to 60 yellow ray florets and has no disc florets.
