About Cremnochorites capensis (Gilchrist & Thompson, 1908)

Cremnochorites capensis, commonly called the Cape triplefin, is a species of triplefin blenny that belongs to the family Tripterygiidae. It is the only known member of the genus Cremnochorites.

This species is distributed in the western Indian Ocean and southeast Atlantic, ranging from Sodwana Bay to False Bay along the coast of South Africa. It inhabits rocky reefs in waters from below the low tide mark down to 30 metres (98 ft) deep. The maximum total length this species can reach is 8 centimetres, which equals 3.1 inches.
