Cremastra appendiculata (D.Don) Makino is an orchid species that belongs to the genus Cremastra, and it is the type species of this genus. Two varieties of this species are currently recognized, with distinct distributions. The autonymic variety, Cremastra appendiculata var. appendiculata, is found in Taiwan, Tibet, Yunnan, Bhutan, Assam, Nepal, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. The second variety, Cremastra appendiculata var. variabilis (Blume) I.D.Lund, is distributed across the Kuril Islands, Sakhalin, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Chinese provinces and administrative regions of Anhui, Chongqing, Gansu, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Sichuan, and Zhejiang.
