Crassula tetragona L. is a non-woody shrub that grows either erect or spreading, reaching up to 1 meter (3 feet) in height. It has woody stems covered in brown bark, and its leaves grow in crossed opposite pairs. Leaf color ranges from green to dark green. This plant produces terminal inflorescences that bear white flowers, which emerge during the summer. Its chromosome number varies, with recorded counts of 2n=16, 2n=32, and 2n=48. The subspecies of Crassula tetragona are geographically separated, and generally only one subspecies occurs in any given geographic area.
