Crassula clavata grows up to 10 inches tall. It produces tightly packed oblanceolate leaves that can reach 1 inch in length, and these leaves are colored dark reddish-purple. Its inflorescences can grow up to 6 inches tall, and the flowers are white. In cultivation, this species grows in USDA hardiness zones 9b through 11b. Like many other members of the Crassula genus, Crassula clavata is easily susceptible to insect and fungal diseases. It can be propagated via offsets or leaf cuttings, and it requires growing conditions from full sun to partial shade.
