Cotoneaster microphyllus Wall. ex Lindl., commonly known as small-leaved cotoneaster or rockspray cotoneaster, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the Rosaceae family. This plant is native to the Indian Subcontinent, Tibet, Sichuan, Yunnan in China, and Myanmar. It has also been introduced to multiple locations across Europe, Australia, and the United States. It is a rabbit-tolerant shrub that grows up to 1 meter (3 feet) in height, and can spread to reach 2.5 meters (8 feet) wide. It is hardy in USDA zones 5 through 7, and is recommended for use in rockeries and hedges. Care should be taken to avoid planting it in areas where it could become invasive.
