About Cotinis antonii Duges, 1878

Cotinis antonii is a species of scarab beetle belonging to the genus Cotinis. This species has been observed in Cadereyta and Guanajuato, Mexico. Individuals of this species have been photographed on rock surfaces, and appear to prefer dark habitats. Like all species in the family Scarabaeidae, Cotinis antonii has a shiny outer shell that protects its main body, and the species has a completely black exoskeleton. Its antennae grow from the front of the head, and split into three branches. Cotinis antonii is a member of the Green June Beetles group, and currently has no assigned conservation status.
