About Cosmopepla conspicillaris (Dallas, 1851)

Cosmopepla conspicillaris (Dallas, 1851) is a species of insect in the stink bug family Pentatomidae. It was first formally described by William Dallas in 1851. Because the species commonly prefers plants from the genus Stachys, it is most often known by the common name hedgenettle stink bug. Depending on location, it also goes by the common names conspicuous stink bug, two-spotted stink bug, and happy bespectacled stink bug. The name two-spotted stink bug more correctly refers to a different species, Perillus bioculatus (Fabricius, 1775).
