Corytophanes percarinatus, commonly known as the Guatemalan helmeted basilisk, is a species of lizard belonging to the family Corytophanidae. This species is native to Central America and southern Mexico. Its confirmed geographic distribution includes El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and the Chiapas region of southern Mexico. The preferred natural habitats of Corytophanes percarinatus are forest and savanna, and it occurs at altitudes ranging from 200 meters (660 feet) to 2,000 meters (6,560 feet). Corytophanes percarinatus reproduces via viviparity, meaning it gives birth to live young.
