Corythoichthys intestinalis, described by Ramsay in 1881, is a species of marine fish belonging to the family Syngnathidae. Its most widely used common name is the scribbled pipefish. Other common names for this species include banded pipefish, Australian banded pipefish, Australian messmate pipefish, and messmate pipefish. This pipefish is widely distributed across tropical waters of the central Indo-Pacific region. It is a small marine fish that can grow to a maximum total length of 16 centimetres, or 6.3 inches.
