About Coryphopterus personatus (Jordan & Thompson, 1905)

This species, Coryphopterus personatus, reaches a maximum total length of 4.0 centimeters, which equals 1.6 inches. It is hard to distinguish from its close relative Coryphopterus hyalinus. Distinctive features of C. personatus include a dark "mask" marking on its face, a faint dusky stripe along the lower rear margin of its body, and a translucent patch on the center of the top of its head. C. personatus is also slightly larger than C. hyalinus; C. hyalinus only reaches a maximum length of 3 centimeters, or 1.2 inches.
