About Corydon sumatranus (Raffles, 1822)

This species has the scientific name Corydon sumatranus (Raffles, 1822), and is commonly called the dusky broadbill. Its plumage is predominantly charcoal gray, with a pale-yellow throat and a brown eye ring. It has a red bill, a single white band across its wings, and multiple white bands on the underside of its tail. The dusky broadbill inhabits moist and dry tropical and subtropical broadleaf forests, tropical swamps, and cloud forests, and occurs up to an upper elevation limit of 2000 metres. It is distributed across Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, and the islands of Sumatra and Borneo.
