Cortinarius magellanicus Speg. is an agaric fungus species that belongs to the family Cortinariaceae. This species was first described as new to science by mycologist Carlos Luigi Spegazzini in 1887. It has been recorded in South America and New Zealand, but collections obtained from New Zealand are genetically distinct from the fungal material collected in South America.
