Coreopsis nuecensis A.Heller is an annual herbaceous flowering plant. It usually reaches a height between 10 and 50 cm, which equals 3.9 to 19.7 inches. Its ray florets are yellow with red or purple flecks, while its disc florets are yellow. This species typically blooms from March to May. It is native to Texas, and is probably also native to Tamaulipas. Isolated records of the species exist from Michigan, Florida, and Louisiana. It grows in sandy soils within oak and post-oak woodlands.
