About Coreopsis major Walter

Coreopsis major Walter (scientific synonym: Anacis major) is a North American tickseed species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the eastern United States, ranging from Louisiana to Virginia, and extending inland as far as Indiana and Ohio. Isolated populations of this plant can be found in Pennsylvania, Long Island, and Massachusetts; these populations are most likely escapes from cultivation. It is a perennial herb that grows up to 90 cm (3 feet) tall and produces yellow flower heads.
