About Coremacera marginata (Fabricius, 1775)

Coremacera marginata adults reach a length of 7 to 10 millimetres (0.28 to 0.39 inches). These flies have a slender, dark greyish body, with prominent reddish eyes. Their brown-yellowish antennae point forward; the third antenna segment is hairy, and the arista is whitish. Their dark grey wings are mottled with greyish spots. This species is found across most of Europe and the Near East, and individuals are typically found in grasslands and woodlands.
