About Cordylanthus parviflorus (Ferris) Wiggins
Cordylanthus parviflorus is a species of flowering plant in the Orobanchaceae family, commonly called purple bird's beak. It is native to the western United States, where it grows in multiple habitat types, including the sagebrush steppe of the Great Basin. This species is an annual herb. It has a red-tinted gray-green color, with a hairy, glandular, sticky texture. It reaches a height between 20 and 60 centimeters. Its inflorescence produces flowers, which are accompanied by hairy, lobed red-green bracts. Each flower can grow up to 2 centimeters long. It consists of a dark-veined pink pouch that is enveloped by darker sepals.
