Corallus annulatus (Cope, 1875) has a color pattern consisting of a brownish-red base ground color, marked by overlapping blackish rings or netlike reticulated patterns. This species is geographically distributed across parts of Central America and South America. In Central America, it occurs in eastern Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. In South America, it is found in Pacific coastal Colombia and northwestern Ecuador. The designated type locality for this species is Costa Rica.
