The south Melanesian cuckooshrike, with the scientific name Coracina caledonica, is an uncommon bird species that belongs to the cuckooshrike family. This species can be found in New Caledonia, Bougainville Island, the Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. It is a large cuckooshrike, measuring between 32 and 37 centimeters in length, with a long square tail and dark grey plumage covering its entire body. Adult individuals of this species have yellow eyes, while juvenile individuals have dark eyes. The natural habitats of the south Melanesian cuckooshrike are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
